From start to finish, count on about five days. While swelling is not typical, it can happen, especially around the eye area. For example, swelling can be a bit more severe if you have filler under the eye. The first day will feel like a sunburn. Day two can feel a bit tender or raw, but most redness should be better if not gone. If you are going to swell, it will be by day two.

The following few days, you are likely to have “microscabs” develop which will give your face a sandpaper-like texture. You will want to rub them. Do not. At this stage, you might feel a little tight or itchy so have a calming cream or oil to use as needed. The texture will naturally slough off.
