VI Peels in Lawrence

For most of our patients, the VI Peel is an excellent option for skin repair and rejuvenation, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for all of our patients. You should find an alternative skin treatment if you are:

• Pregnant
• Breastfeeding
• Allergic to aspirin
• Using or have used accutane in the last 6 months
• Someone with herpes, cold sores, or open wounds
• Undergoing cancer treatment like radiation therapy or chemotherapy
• Someone with a weak immune system or autoimmune disease

We want to find a skin treatment that works for you, so if you don’t think a VI Peel in Lawrence is right for you, then talk with your provider. We’ll find a different treatment that works for you.

The VI Peel’s exfoliation process is sufficient enough to treat your skin conditions, but not so severe that it will cause any discomfort or pain. You can expect to feel a warming, tingling sensation process during your procedure, but this should not last long. After the treatment is complete, many patients feel itchiness in the treatment area.

We recommend that you avoid scratching, as this could have a negative effect on your healing process. If you feel the itching becomes overly bothersome or uncomfortable, then reach out to your provider.

The VI Peel is an exciting option for skin rejuvenation. This peel works by treating the skin cells beneath the skin’s surface. Melanin is a polymer in the skin’s cells that is responsible for our skin tone. However, when cells overproduce melanin, spots and hyperpigmentation may form on the skin’s surface.

The VI Peel in Lawrence combats this process by exfoliating the skin cells. As a result, new cells form, and the hyperpigmentation fades. This process has other benefits as well. As the peel exfoliates the skin cells, it also smooths out the skin, so you can notice improved texture and tone, all at once.

You won’t peel for long following your VI Peel treatment.  On average, the peeling will begin after around 3 days, and you will likely continue to peel for 3 to 4 days after that.

Though, because every patient’s skin is different, you may peel for less time or more! Many first-time patients also peel for longer than returning patients. Talk to your provider if you have any questions about the recovery process.

We do not recommend that you use your typical skincare products in the days following your VI Peel in Lawrence, as they might negatively affect your recovery. We suggest that you wait a week before you resume your standard skincare routine.
