BHRT Hormones
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses hormones that are chemically identical to human hormones. The body can more readily utilize these kinds of hormones, with far fewer possible side effects. Bioidentical hormones come from plant sources, commonly including wild yams.
HRT Hormones
Non-bioidentical hormone replacement therapy involves hormones that don’t chemically match our own natural hormones. Estrogen hormones in HRT can be derived from equine sources. For example, Premarin comes from pregnant horse urine.
